303 On The Footpath
I swear these numbers find me wherever I go! This set appeared on a footpath on my way to work. For those who these numbers mean nothing to, go check out the Roland TB-303 wikipedia page.
The Roland TB-303 was one of the first machines that made me want to write and produce music. It sounded so alien and exciting that I had to find out more. For a long time I made do with poor software versions and trying to make other synths sound like a 303, but eventually I got a chance to buy a real one, and I didn’t hesitate.
It sometimes sits in the studio unloved for months at a time, but whenever I get the bug to make music, the pieces of kit I always come back to are the 303, the MPC and the distortion pedal. 
Note to self: Must do a post about great tracks that use the 303…
