I’m in the process of recording some old 12 inches to DJ with again on CD or digitally and Barry Redsetta‘s recent tweet about Bobby O got me digging out this one again. This is the version the Pet Shop Boys recorded in New York in 1984 with Bobby O for Bobcat Records, before re-recording it in 1985 for their album Please. This latter version is the one that went on to become a massive pop hit, but the original 12 inch version with its looseness and more freestyle vibe is the one I always come back to.
